Psychological support for adults in Bresso (Milan) and online — grounded in scientific evidence and attentive to your personal experience. I work with a cognitive-behavioural approach, at your own pace and needs.
I am a psychologist trained in cognitive-behavioural therapy, currently completing my psychotherapy training at Studi Cognitivi in Milan. I work with adults going through emotional, relational or personal difficulties — when anxiety, stress or a sense of being stuck start to interfere with quality of life.
I focus in particular on anxiety, stress, self-criticism and perfectionism, relationship and self-esteem difficulties — helping people recognise their recurring patterns and build more flexible ways of relating to themselves and others.
Alongside my clinical work I am pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität — including a research stay at the University of Zurich — focused on the processes of personality change during CBT.
I have specific training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and completed an advanced course in Assessment and Treatment of Personality Disorders at the University of Bologna.
A first meeting to explore your difficulties, understand your needs and decide together on the path best suited to you.
Focused work on anxiety, stress, perfectionism, self-criticism and relationship difficulties, with an evidence-based CBT approach.
An in-depth assessment of personal functioning using validated instruments — not a label, but a tool to understand yourself better.
I see clients in Bresso (Milan) — Via I. Isimbardi 18 — and online. Sessions also available in English.
A chance to get to know each other, exploring what brings you here, your current situation and your goals. Together we consider whether to begin a shared path.
When useful, we look more closely at personal functioning and symptoms through validated interviews and questionnaires, leading to a shared diagnostic report.
The path is followed over time to observe change and guide the clinical work, with a collaborative, evidence-based approach.
My clinical work is rooted in scientific research. I study how personality changes over time — and in particular how the personal traits that generate distress, such as emotional rigidity or relational difficulties, shift over the course of psychological treatment.
I explore these questions with real clinical samples, collecting data over time to understand not only whether therapy works, but how and for whom it works — and what truly changes in the people who undertake it.
I serve as a peer reviewer for international psychology journals and have presented my work at European conferences. I am a member of the European Association of Personality Psychology.
“I don’t usually write reviews, but in this case I really want to thank and recommend Dr. Ocera. Competent and empathetic. I felt welcomed and at ease talking about parts of my life that are truly hard to face.”
“With Alessandro I felt at ease right away — which for me is far from obvious. He listens with great care and honesty, without ever making you feel judged. Thanks to the work with him I’m learning to handle many situations that once felt too heavy to face on my own.”
“I turned to Dr. Ocera during a difficult time in my personal relationships, and after just a few sessions I was already able to understand my own patterns better […]. I highly recommend Dr. Ocera for his empathy and his non-judgmental listening.”
“Nothing to add — Alessandro is very competent and empathetic, I’m truly glad I found him.”
The main office is at Via I. Isimbardi 18, Bresso (Milan). I also see clients at Via Vittorio Veneto 12, Bresso (Milan).
The first session is a chance to explore what brought you here, get to know each other, and consider whether and how we might work together.
Sessions last about 50 minutes.
Yes — for people up to the age of 25, the first 10 sessions are offered at a reduced rate.
It is a short process of about two sessions in which, through interviews and questionnaires, we explore your mental wellbeing.
It varies from case to case; I usually set aside a 90-minute slot.
I prepare a diagnostic report, share it with you, and we outline a proposed plan of support.
